Kiln Drying

Wood is a versatile and cost effective building material combining natural strength with sustainability. Modern softwoods are responsibly grown and managed for use in construction, fencing and leisure applications.

Kiln Drying

The preparation and packing of timbers on site at Clows Top ensure that machine round timbers are supplied to meet our benchmark standards.

The introduction of a 900kw Biomass unit has converted our kiln drying facilities to a more sustainable fuel source utilising wood waste created at both the Hartlebury and Clows Top manufacturing sites to provide heat for the kilns and across the wider site.

Once the timbers have been processed through the plant they are packed for kilning and treatment. Each pack is sticked prior to kilning to maintain air flow and even drying prior to being loaded into one of the three state of the art Drying Kilns with capacity of 180m3 (Approximately 6 artic loads of timber).

Timbers are kilned down to 40% moisture for Spruce and 30% for Pine.

For more than 40 years, M&M Timber has built its reputation on the manufacture and supply of quality timber products to a wide range of businesses across the UK. Timbers are used in a variety of applications from agricultural fencing to creative play areas.
